Making an Appointment with Your Des Moines Photographer
By Richard Jones
Making an Appointment with Your Des Moines Photographer Having a consultation with your Des Moines photographer is like setting up an appointment for your event. You are arranging for the services of this professional. There are several things you need to address in the consultation. 1. Define the event. The photographer cannot begin to make plans with you unless she or he knows what it is that needs to be photographed. Explain if it is an outdoor or church wedding, it is a family reunion, it is a new baby in the family, or you want a sporting event to be covered. The simplest description of the event is all that is needed to get the ball rolling. 2. Make sure the date is available with that particular Des Moines photographer. You may not be able to change the date. If you want your event to be photographed, you need to find a photographer who can do it on your date. It is always a good idea to book well in advance of the date. 3. Set up the location of the event. Make sure your Des Moines photographer can work with the conditions at your location. For example, if you were going to have a family reunion at a water park, it might not be the best atmosphere for photography. If photographs were to be taken at all, certain steps might need to be taken to protect the equipment from the splashing water. 4. Set up the time for your Des Moines photographer to be at the event. You may just be setting up an appointment for a family or individual portrait. In that case, you and the photographer can work together to schedule the best time. If instead you are planning an all day event that is set at a specific time, you will need to confirm that your Des Moines photographer is available at that time. 5. Agree on the length of time services will be rendered. In other words, if you have a wedding, your Des Moines photographer needs to know how long you expect the wedding to last. She or he also needs to know whether photos are needed of the reception. If so, you will need to reach an agreement with the photographer as to how long she or he will be expected to stay. An organized professional will make sure you cover all these topics. Be sure that when your Des Moines photographer brings up these questions, you have thought about how you will answer them. After all, it is best for everyone when you think ahead in planning your happy event.
