Discussing Photo Plans with Your Iowa Wedding Photographer
By Richard Jones
Discussing Photo Plans with Your Iowa Wedding Photographer You might be a person who will leave everything in the hands of your Iowa wedding photographer. You will just say, "Give me 100 good pictures of my wedding," and leave it up to the professional to decide what to photograph. However, if you want a more hands-on approach, you can have a conversation about what you want in those pictures. Your Iowa wedding photographer will likely be happy to listen and take notes about what pictures you want. You can start out by asking what photos are customary in the wedding package. You will probably hear many answers. The usual wedding pictures are photos of the march up and down the aisle, the time at the altar, as well as posed pictures of the bride and groom and family that are taken after the ceremony. If you have special moments in your ceremony that you want captured, you might mention them in your discussion with your Iowa wedding photographer. One might be the lighting of a unity candle, another might be a special singer or speaker who you want to be sure is included. If you want the Iowa wedding photographer to cover your reception, make that clear when you discuss your plans. Make sure you give the time and place and you know how long the photographer will be at the reception. You can talk about toasts, the first dance, the father and bride dance, and the dollar dance. You can discuss how to handle unruly guests. You might have a certain way you want to deal with it, such as having fewer pictures made with these people in them. If on the other hand, you want to emphasize a boisterous atmosphere, instruct your photographer to take plenty of these pictures. However, if you just tell your Iowa wedding photographer to use her or his discretion, the photos will probably come out fine. It is all up to you. Actually, it is a great idea to talk about the tone you want for your wedding pictures. Do you want the look of a solemn occasion or a joyous romp? Do you want to be all-inclusive or stick to the basic wedding party? How many pictures do you want to choose from and how many do you expect to buy? All these decisions may be made and communicated to the Iowa wedding photographer if you want to have the wedding pictures you desire.
