Catfish Stink Bait Recipes - Great Fishing

Stink bait attracts loads of catfish thanks to their hyper-sensitive sense of smell. It’s also a great way to render certain kitchen appliances, if not the entire kitchen itself, unusable for days if not forever. Here are some particularly obnoxious stink bait recipes. Put a gallon of chicken innards, two gallons of spoiled milk, two cans of condensed milk, a gallon of blood (from a local butcher), several pounds of corn meal and a little garlic in a five-gallon bucket. Punch a small hole in the lid. Bury in a sunny location for three to four weeks. Put five pounds of old cheese, cut into chunks, into a five-gallon bucket. Add enough hot water so that you can mash the cheese into a paste. Puree three pounds of chicken liver, with plenty of blood, in a blender; add chicken liver puree to cheese paste in bucket. (If you have any catfish guts leftover from cleaning fish, you can add those to the liver puree.) Secure an airtight lid; squeeze sides of bucket to express extra air so the fermentation gases will have room to expand. Place outside in the sun for three days, or up to five days if you’re really brave. In order to tell whether the mixture is ready, stick your head in the bucket and take a big whiff. If you don’t vomit, it needs to sit in the sun for a few more days. Once it reaches that point, mix in enough flour so that it becomes dough. Try not to hurl. You can put it on your hook or pour it into a pantyhose leg to attract fish. Put cut shad in a jar and let it sit in the sun all day. Pour dry gourmet cat food and one can of shrimp pellets into a bowl, then add enough water so that it reaches halfway up the mound of cat food and shrimp pellets. Pour in only the blood from three one-pound tubs of chicken livers. Let this mixture sit in the refrigerator overnight, assuming your spouse won’t kill you. The mixture will absorb all the liquid overnight and become mushy. Puree the shad in a blender until it is completely liquefied. Now mix the shad puree with the cat food concoction. Add one cup of cornmeal and let the mixture sit for three hours. Then add just a pinch of corn starch at a time until you reach the consistency that will allow the mixture to stay on a hook. Mix one can of tuna, two cups of vinegar and a whole bottle of garlic salt. Add a pinch of salt, some pickle juice, two green olives and some of the olive juice. Puree in blender while adding American cheese, one cup of milk and some moldy bread. Now cook the mixture in a large pot until it boils. Pour a little milk on top when it’s done. Mix two cups of beef blood, one-half cup of parmesan cheese, one can of moist seafood cat food and two cups of corn flakes. Add flour until it makes a giant dough ball. Mix one cup of Wheaties, two tablespoons of sardine oil, one teaspoon of shrimp paste, one cup of milk, one packet of Kraft macaroni and cheese powder, several chunks of Limburger cheese, some goldfish food and some flour in a large container. Put container outside in direct sunlight for three days. Mix shrimp, ground beef, garlic, crawfish oil, fish innards and cheese in a large bowl. Add enough water so that mixture is not too thin to drip through pantyhose. Put mixture in pantyhose, tie off ends, and place in a sealed bottle in the sun for a month or until it stinks to high heaven, whichever comes first.
